THE LEGITIMATE OUTLET FOR ILLEGITIMATE ARTISTS

In 2009 Brittany co-founded, designed, and printed Asylum Lake Magazine, a non-profit, Kalamazoo based, literary and visual arts publication. She was in charge of all visual content for the magazine, compilation of content from various editors, photography, page layout/design, printing, and assembly. She helped lead meetings, plan events for release parties, create promo pieces, and was deemed the official “cat herder” of the ever changing group of artsy volunteers. Brittany completed 10 issues over 3 years (she was the only person to contribute to all ten); working with and featuring over 100 local artists. After being awarded a professional large format digital color laser printer from Xerox (sponsored for 4 years), she opened Asylum Lake Press, LLC, in 2011.
